This combination of orchestral music, dancing, and singing, in a huge group of people, is a most inspiring example of "amplified divine light in all." This is music as it was naturally meant to be experienced. To hear music without moving is quite unnatural, a noted philosopher (Friedrich Nietzsche) once said.
Enjoy this example of the fully alive, benevolent-world "New Life" that we in our church celebrate, and promote for all people everywhere!!

and check out other stuff by the same conductor. It's all similarly wonderful!!
Andre Rieu - Shostakovich' Second Waltz
Thanks to my Gaia Friend Albert in Germany for turning me on to this great stuff!!

Amplifying Divine Light in All… that's what you do, OM, here on Gaia. So many times I've lit up over here reading your posts and rarely have I told you about it.
But here it is now: You rock my world, woman. Too many insights and confirmations have come through your channel to even begin to make up a gift for you in return.
Just wanting to let you know.
With admiration,
your Mascha
Here's another lovely life-enhancing waltz, on the balalaika, not by Rieu. I think the player uploaded the video!!

Enjoy!!
This Barcarole from Tales of Hoffman is one of my all-time favorite pieces of music. Rieu does it too fast, but the video oozes love and peacefulness and contentment of life.

OK OK I'll quit after just this one more, but there are lots more to explore on YouTube, just search Andre Rieu.
I have heard tell that there exist some human beings who don't enjoy the Lord of the Dance/Riverdance stuff, but I am not one of them. Here's great exuberance:

Oh, Mascha, here I am steeped in guilt for neglecting my day while I jump and dance and grin with this music, and you come along and say something nice!!
I am thrilled to bring good things into your life, as you do mine, more than can be told, more than you might suspect. Stick around, lady, don't be in a hurry to leave this embodiment, and we'll rock together, and rock this world!!! (In both senses: dance and profoundly alter.)
And that goes for the rest of you too. Let's ROCK !!!!!
xo
OM
Greek music, dancing in the aisles of a concert hall, the orchestra dancing too.

I forgot to say that I've now added to my list of things to do in the near future: Attend one of these concerts!! I might become a follower, like the Deadheads following around the Grateful Dead musical group.
Hi Om,
Quite a surprise here and I'll tell you why. Andre Rieu is a dutch violin player and thus I have known about him for a long time, even before he got as famous as he is now. To be quite honest, I have never really been a great fan of him because of the fact that I (and many others with me) always felt he very much “commercialized” great classical pieces.
However this has had a positive side as well. Because he also has evoked the interest of many people who never listened to classical music before, to an appreciation of the music of some great composers. And I do respect the fact that he seems to bring a quality of joy and happiness to all who come to listen to him. It is uplifting, and that shows itself, through the pieces you have chosen, very clearly here as well. And that is simply wonderful.
I love music and I love to move/dance on certain music but an ex, (who was an artist as well as a musician) always used to say in a very belitteling tone “oh but musicians dont dance”! Oh how I wish I would have known that Nietzsche quote then: to hear music without moving is quite unnatural !
It was fun to watch the opera part too, it's on my wish list to visit the opera in Italy once, I think that be grand!
Love your theme “Amplifying Divine Light in All”. I just learned I can still feel elated even by music that is not my first choise but merely by enjoying the joy it gives others it amplifies my own light and joy.
Thank you dear.
Hugs,
Lucienne
Thank you for spreading your celebratory spirit, OM, and for this lovely to Andre Rieu. I had seen his name on PBS ads, but had never listened to or watched him before…
Gratefully,
B.
Beautiful. Simply beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
I was captivated with the music, and it's contents within. It was very moving, and such a delight to watch.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful gathering of sound and dance.
Big hugs…..huge:)))
Lucienne, I so appreciate all your input. I can understand about “commercializing” classical music, but then perhaps Victor Borge did that too. And having now heard such a mind-blowing happening as a “Sing-Along with Shostakovich” and how life-affirming that was, I am open to having people respond to and appreciate classical music in unclassical ways. Sounds as if you can see other approaches, too.
Now don't you be off to Italy while I am visiting The Netherlands. We better coordinate these things!! LOL !!
Bruce and Laurie and mum, I'm absolutely delighted you enjoyed the sharing!!!!!!!!!
I'm sorta feeling that maybe today's exuberance in my life (there were a couple of other contributing experiences today too) is somehow related to influence “from the other side” by my Friend Michael Sheppard. At least I enjoy interpreting it all that way…..
Dear Om,
in the spirit of celebration, laughter, play , life and deep friendship lets listen to Carmina Burana (conducted by andre Rieu):

Have a wonderful summer,
Albert
Thanks, Albert, and thanks for triggering off this “attack of exuberance” (as I'm labelling it) in my life today!!
I've heard many performances of this piece, and I'd say his makes up in energy what it lacks in nuancing. The middle part was kinda flat, but hey how can ya argue with fireworks at the end??
:)
OM
I forgot to add: I'm now describing the Shostakovich piece as a “Sing-Along with Shostakovich” and of course the mind-blowing concept of that makes me dissolve in laughter!!
OM, this is so beautiful. Thank you for bringing this…now off I go to listen again.
Meenakshi dear I am soooo happy you are enjoying it!!
In case you aren't danced out, here is a non-Rieu piece, indicating where this world is going. Thanks, Will.

Blessings, OM
Thanks for this blog entry, Will. I can see there is a genre emerging here. I am delighted to add this to my collection in this blog!!
This particular example embodies a paradigm shift, no, perhaps even a worldview shift, from the traditional “meaning” of a wedding, and the body movements regarded as appropriate during a wedding. Certainly a shift from regarding somberness, seriousness, as more “sacred” than joy, exuberance. Hmmm, I can't quite capture the difference in words….. But you probably sense what I mean. There is in this “behavior” an entire rejection of a very long tradition found in several religions, of denial and deprecation of this life and this world in favor of “something else.” What Ken Wilber calls the “Ascender” aspects of religion. This video is more “Tantric,” regarding all of life as holy, and as part of the Divine Realization.
At least, that's where I go in my responses to this. Besides tapping my toe. And how can that guy do a handstand without his glasses falling off??????
Love, OM
I like this interpretation,OM. I was so serious during my wedding! This would've been funner.
Perhaps for our 50th anniversary!
You go, girl !!!!!
