Help

The one thing that the article doesn't state is where he went after he left. There are very few “major” congregations out there today that give more than lip-service to the idea women's equality, because many are still abiding by “male” interpretations of biblical writings.
As an interesting side-note, one of the ”related articles” headlined that ”Schuller daughter aims to heal Crystal Cathedral” - after her brother was turfed (last December) as the heir-apparent to her father's (Robert H. Schuller) massive church in California. So apparently women are good enough/capable to come to the rescue of their church, but not good enough/capable to actually lead it theoligically. Sheila Schuller is acting in an administrative capacity, apparently, but others (mostly male preachers, by the sound of the line-up) will still do the preaching (and therefore interpreting of “the word”) .

To be expected, the Schuller stuff, eh?
Good question. Wonder if he'll end up in the Episcopal Church, which I've seen is far more open toward women, gays, etc. Not ideal, but better.
